The Hidden History of Eagles Island – Public Talk

April 21 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
$5
Silhouetted World War II battleship moored in a coastal marsh at sunset, with winding tidal creeks in the foreground. A faint, sepia-toned historic map overlays the sky, suggesting layers of history tied to Eagles Island.

Eagles Island is more than a backdrop for the city of Wilmington– it is a place shaped by centuries of human experience and natural change. From its prehistoric uses to serving as the present-day home of the Battleship North Carolina, Eagles Island holds stories that are still unfolding. This talk invites you to see the island from the unique perspective of historian an archaeologist Dr. Jay C. Martin, Executive Director of the Battleship North Carolina Memorial.

Tickets are $5 in advance; $8 at the door as space allows.
